megaverses are about 20x bigger than multiverses.

jobs for alters usually take place in megaverses ranging from average freelance to galactic diplomat. 

you might think that getting a job is pointless when you are a reality bender(alter), but getting a job gives most alters a purpose. it can get boring when you're immortal.

of course you do get currency from working, called dendilons. 

you can exchange dendilons for books at the library.

to make sure nobody tries to illegally make more dendilons, they coat a thin layer of anti reality bending substance called gen. and even if they do manage to harvest gen, it is laced in a way that only reality bending can achieve, however you cannot reality bend gen.

the black rings on the megaverse serve as a mutated defense against the astral power in the Metaverse, when the astral power did hit the megaverse without the rings the multiverses would be harmed.
